Some changes

From now on, Writehandpalm will widen its scope to include reviews of books, films, DVDs, theatre and the like, rather than just focusing on my literary endeavours.

The reason for this change is not that I have't been writing - I have, albeit it slowly - but I've learned that writing about writing is a completely useless project. I should have realsied this from the start - the novellist Anthony Burgess bemoaned the fact in the second volume of his memoirs, You've Had Your Time. He had hinted, in the first part (Big God and Little Wilson), that YHYT would be the more substantial volume. He discovered, however, that decribing his writing career was not profitable - a writer's professional activity consists of sitting at a desk and tapping away at a typewriter or keyboard. As for where the ideas came from, or the creative process, half the time the writer isn't able to offer any useful insight.

So Writehandpalm should be a more active and diverse place than it has been of late. Not that it has been much of anything, recently.
